Highlight of all the places I visited today for the CAF’s Open House Chicago was Agudas Achim Synagogue at 5029 N Kenmore.
Built in 1922, it is currently in state of rapid decay. So beautiful, but also sad to see such an amazing place literally falling apart.
I’ve been in Agudas Achim a few times over the years. Unfortunately the board of the synagogue is in such political turmoil, it seems the building will decay long before a solution is found.
