So Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure today announced that they will no longer give any funding to Planned Parenthood.

I’m someone who participated in two of the Komen 3-Day walks and raised $8,000 for the organization. Today this pushed me over the edge. I’m no longer someone who just calls or emails my senator to support a women’s right to health care, but I set up a monthly donation to Planned Parenthood.
It was Planned Parenthood that I stood outside of, with a friend, the day she was to find out if she had breast cancer. I walked the Komen in her honor.
I said on Facebook today, in a comment thread with some Republican friends, that Komen better convince the CVS Minute Clinic or Walgreens or Target clinics to start doing breast cancer screenings. Those are the only clinics my underinsured and uninsured friends go to other than Planned Parenthood.
